My Car !

So about a week ago, Shae and I were on our way home from the dentist and my car Died! I'm out in the middle of nowhere on a snowy day I manage to get the car off the road and on the shoulder. I call my mom to come rescue us since Shannon's at work. Its about 20 degrees without the windchill so it was frigid and Mom makes it through the country roads but only with the help of God since our road commissioner is lazy and doesn't keep the roads plowed properly. It is now 11a.m. and we are heading back to Arthur to get Shae to school. Shae arrives intact and a plan has been made that Shannon will pick the car up at 5pm when he gets off work. I go about my day and I'm at work and my husband calls me and says "The car has been towed.!!!" He was livid!!! For those of you who know my husband, you know he doesn't show his colors very often so when he does it is not pretty! So he finally figured out that Coles County sheriff had it towed and didn't bother to call us. By this time the towing company is closed, so not only do we have to pay towing fees but we have to pay over night storage fees as well!! Shannon had to take off work the next day so we could go get it. The car sat there for 5 hours and they had it towed. It was out in the middle of nowhere. It was hurting anybody. So we replace the alternator and manage to get in done in time to go to Chicago. Yesterday we were headed out of town after the basketball game to get a bite to eat and we are driving along and we hear a funny noise we keep driving and we make it another 5 miles before it dies again!!! We manage to pull the car over into a deserted parking lot. Shannon pops the hood and discovers that the timing belt has been cut, a brand new belt! Upon futher inspection, he realizes that the pully on the new alternator has broken cutting the belt! So my brother Matt very nicely came to our rescue and picked us up. We are leaving the scene and I say to Shannon "Shouldn't we tell the police what happened so they don't tow our car?" He says "No they won't tow our car!" Well we were lucky Shannon had saved the pulley from our other alternator so we were able to switch that and get a new belt and get it all changed last night in the deserted parking lot. Our car didn't get towed, but I think if it would have I would have told them they could keep it. Our car has had a serious of issues over the last 6 months and I'm really ready to replace it. The only problem is if I get rid of it some else is going to benefit from all the money we have put in it, including brand new tires. Shannon says it has to go in his words "The car doesn't like me." Well I am teetering between because I don't want car payments. So we will see who wins the war?
